Data & Privacy
Mihrath was built to preserve human knowledge, not to harvest human data. Our approach to privacy is rooted in the same principles of transparency and preservation that guide our archival work.
The Privacy Charter
As an open knowledge institution, we believe that learning about the history of agriculture should not require sacrificing your digital privacy.
1. Information We Collect
As a digital encyclopedia and open archive, Mihrath minimizes data collection by design. We collect only the information necessary to maintain the integrity, security, and functionality of the platform.
- Account Data: If you register as a researcher or contributor, we collect your name, institutional affiliation (if applicable), and email address.
- Archival Contributions: Any manuscripts, research, or text submitted to the archive is stored permanently as public record, attributed to your public profile.
- Telemetry & Analytics: We use privacy-respecting, anonymized telemetry to understand which historical eras and crops are most frequently researched. We do not track individual reading habits.
2. How We Use Your Data
Mihrath operates strictly as an educational and archival institution. We do not use your personal information for targeted advertising, nor do we monetize user profiles.
Information is used exclusively to attribute research contributions, notify you of major platform updates, and ensure the technical stability of the archive across global regions.
3. Third-Party Sharing
We adhere to a strict non-commercialization policy. Mihrath never sells, rents, or trades your personal information to third parties, data brokers, or marketing agencies.
We only share data when required by law or with highly vetted, security-compliant infrastructure partners (such as our database and hosting providers) strictly for the purpose of operating the platform.
Data & Security Inquiries
If you have questions regarding this privacy policy, wish to request an export of your institutional data, or need to report a security vulnerability, please contact our archival security board.
